Some monuments show dramatic expressions of personal creativity. Pictured below is the grave of Jules Verne, located in the La Madeleine Cemetery in Amiens, France. Verne, who was born in 1828 and died in 1905, authored several famous works of early science fiction. His grave was sculpted by Albert Roze, and depicts Verne bursting out of his tomb and reaching heaven-ward for resurrection.
