The gravestone below is an example of Stone 17 from the Plympton County cemetery, as depicted in Figure 3 of the study by James Deetz and Edwin Dethlefsen entitled Death's Head, Cherub, Urn and Willow.

Further evolution of the second, major branch of stylistic developments departing from Stone 5 are shown in this stone as well. The face is surrounded by rings of multiple halos, and the heart-shaped mouth has been modified into a simple "T" shape.
